Help Sim Card to Micro Sim Guide?

Shocky

Android Expert
Does anyone know any good guides for cutting down a sim card? I'm with giffgaff so don't really want to wait for them to send me a new one.

Like someone else said, eBay has cutters.

I do wish carriers would stop this, and either everyone have the micro-SIM, or the regular SIM. I swap devices VERY often, and I can't stand it when I'm swapping to a device with a different SIM size.

Fair dos. This looks like a decent guide:

Also if I order a replacement sim card I'll be out of service until it arrives anyway because you can't have two active sims.

I'll try this later, thanks.

I don't think your service will be deactivated until it arrives will it? The way it works I think is that they'll send your new sim and you call or go on the website to activate it when it arrives.

Yep, if I go through the replacement/lost sim option on the site the current sim will be deactivated according to users on their forum.

Can't speak for US carriers, but I got my SGS3 a few hours ago, micro sim was included in the delivery so called up tmobile UK from my old galaxy portal.

Guy on the phone realised that the number I was calling from was the number to be transferred so called me back on the work landline, and got stuck into the transfer. I just had to give the sims serial number and wait a few mins (keep in mind both my galaxy portal and S3 were both turned on and the portal was registered on the network.)

So after a few mins, guy tells me to reboot the S3, and job done, after sim lock was entered the portal lost network and the S3 registered.

I have a feeling that if you go through a side you just get added to a batch quo, but either way, the process shouldn't take longer than 24 hours. For me it was less than 5 mins.
