Root Simple bloat question

O.K. It's stupid question time...

Awhile back I obtained root for the first time ever on my X. I was so excited at the prospect of being able to remove bloat that I immediately did just that. I deleted Car Dock, City ID, and Blockbuster.

For the purposes of future OTAs, is it possible to bring these back in any way? Does a wipe restore EVERYTHING to original

You have to SBF or get copies of the .apk files. Doing a factory reset erases user data but it does not restore system data that you've deleted.

For future reference, you can easily hang onto these files by simply moving them to your SD card. That gets them out of the system but keeps copies for later... they're not very big.

Its even easier to buy Titanium backup pro next time, and freeze rather than delete the bloat.

Next time just move the apps to a different directory. Won't cost you anything, it's easier than renaming, and when you need to move them back, it's one simple command.
