Simple Mobile with 3G Slide

Do you guys know if you need to unlock the MyTouch 3G Slide for it to work with Simple Mobile

as its branded tmobile, one would assume it is locked to only accept tmobile simcards without being unlocked

I am using a MyTouch 3G Slide on Simple Mobile. From what I understand all of T-Mobile phones work with Simple Mobile without unlocking them since Simple Mobile is just a VMNO for T-Mobile.
