simple recovery image question

Well-Known Member
I upgraded from Amon RA 1.5.2 to 1.6.2.

Prior to this upgrade, I had two files in sd card root:
recovery.img
unrevoked

Of course, in the process of upgrading, I copied recovery-RA-heroc-v1.6.2.img there as well.

Do I need to leave all three files in sd card root? Or does the process of upgrading update the 'revovery.img' file with the contents of the new 1.6.2 recovery, in which case I could safely delete recovery-RA-heroc-v1.6.2.img?

OR is that wrong, and can I delete recovery.img (the date stamp of this file hasn't changed) and keep recovery-RA-heroc-v1.6.2.img?

You only need one which is the latest 1.6.2 incase you decide to use CWM and flash a different recovery the other 2 are not needed.

So if I stick with Amon RA, I just need to keep the 1.6.2 recovery file in the sd card root and I can go ahead and delete 'unrevoked' and 'recovery.img'?

Yes correct, you can save them on your PC if you ever want to use them again for any reason that you have the option of putting the file back on your SD card and flashing that particular image back if you choose to do so.
