Hello
Ever since I tried using a PIN to lock the screen of my Huawei P8 Lite running Android 6.0, the "None" option in Settings > Security is no longer available (it's greyed out), and the only way to remove the PIN protection is by going through this complicated HOWTO:
Problem is, I want to enable PIN protection in case I lose my phone, but I need to disable it when riding my bike with Google Maps for directions: With PIN enabled, I have to type it every time I turn on the screen.
Is there a work-around? Maybe some third-party app?
Incidently, why does Android or Huawei makes it so hard to go back to None?
Thank you.
Ever since I tried using a PIN to lock the screen of my Huawei P8 Lite running Android 6.0, the "None" option in Settings > Security is no longer available (it's greyed out), and the only way to remove the PIN protection is by going through this complicated HOWTO:
- Go to settings > screen lock & passwords > password > pattern
- Set the pattern
- Set the extra PIN when requested
- Push the power button twice to activate the screen lock
- Provide the wrong pattern 5 times
- Wait the required 30 seconds
- Choose the extra PIN, and enter the right PIN.
