Siri for Android??

If this is on the old I💩 Then why can it not be on newest android? (I gots it. I wants it. Gets it?)

I'm a multitasker! I'm jamming out to Pandora, texting a friend, talking to someone on th, and writing this on the forums app. I want to thumbs up the awesome song playing, but I can't just tell my phone to. Lol it's so almost perfect!!

Apple acquired Siri to be a proprietary advantage of iPhones so it's highly unlikely that they'll ever release it for Android. The built-in Android "equivalent" is GoogleNow. There are several similar apps available for Android. I use the free app, Utter (which is good enough for me but probably isn't up to Siri caliber). Other popular Siri-like apps that I haven't tried include EVA, Assistant, & Dragon.

Sorry, I don't want SIRI. I spent a week on vacation with my family members with iDevices of all kinds and my Google Now impressed them all. In fact on time I was able to use a lower than normal speaking voice to talk to my Moto X while two others were arguing with Siri to get navigation. I'm sorry, I see Siri as a gimmick while Google Now is a utility.

Add Tasker and AutoVoice and you can make Google Now do almost anything you want. And with a Moto X you can do it all "Touchless". My Moto X just keeps getting better.

But the first response is correct - Siri is an Apple creation, and will never see the light of day on Android. After all, why would Apple release Siri for Android where it would only be seen as a Google Now wannabe?

Well, I realize Siri is a copyrighted thing. I was just meaning something of the like, an equivalent, which is what Google now sounds like. But that is only available on certain phones, right?

IIRC it is a part of Android Jellybean (4.1) and above. I'm not positive if any developer skins have replaced it with something else though.

What? You mean I already have it on my volt? Lol I will feel kinda foolish.. I didn't see Google now app listed in my apps..

It isn't listed in apps. From the home screen, swipe up from the home button. That is how it works on my N7 and my Moto X.

....you mean voice mate where it mishears me every time and takes twice as long for me to do what I wanted? That's Google Now?

It should come up with a screen that looks like this:

if you click on google search it will ask you if you want to use google now or not. once you select yes then you can start using google now......that is how it came on my note 3.

Now just goes to Google homepage on dolphin browser. Though I downloaded open Mic+ and have that working. Not sure off all that I can do with it. But it seems to be going off Google now

I did see, but thank you for reposting it, it made me think, I might have unknowingly pressed no when first using the phone, before I heard of Google now, thinking it was like Google +, which I do NOT like. I don't remember though.. if I did, how do I undo that? The thing that is still confusing me is the screen shot someone posted, and the same screen I've seen in pics online now. I haven't seen that

Have you tried adding the Google Search widget to your homescreen? There should be two widgets there, Google Now and Google Search. Add the Google Now widget and then when you click on the widget it will turn on Google Now. Hope this helps.
