Thanks Hawker, my sleep profile had a conservative governor with main one using ondemndx. Have deleted the sleep profile.
 
Siyah kernel v2.6_S99 is up!

(gokhanmoral's Sydney99 edition. :D )

Comes with 3 CWM flashable .zip files so that you can choose how to optimise this kernel:-

As always, it's a good idea to use the Ultimate Kernel Cleaning Script and to clear previous kernel's settings in SetCPU, Voltage Control, etc; before flashing to help prevent any conflicts.

First impressions of v2.6 + battery.zip are good. Certainly as smooth as v2.5.2. BLN working. Video HD record & playback OK.

Just done 4 reboots and can confirm that boot-up is quicker for me than on previous kernels.

I'm not sure if something's up with my phone, but every time I change the setting to "when screen is off" I come out of the screen, go back in a few moments later and it's defaulted back to "never". Any thoughts?

Yes, kernel first, then optimisation .zip.

I had this the other day. Turned out to be WinAMP update that was causing it. The moment I uninstalled WinAMP the problem was gone.

Its been taken down until tomorrow due to a deep sleep problem. Well what do you expect if you name a kernel after sydney.:D
 
Not to mention boot up times increased by around 15 seconds for me.
I'll wait until it's up on gokhan's site.

I'll put 2.5.2 back on for now.
 
If this kernel is truly named in my honour, it should spend the entire day in a state of deep sleep, no matter what's going on around it ;)
Can't wait to give this baby a go tomorrow.

One guy on xda has suggested that we take Sydney99 to a church, presumably to get an excorcism done on him to lift the curse. :eek:

Boot time is improved. Will leave it on overnight to see how it goes.
 
Well i've got it running on mine (some guy posted a link to the kernel in the thread) and I don't notice any 'deep sleep' issue. Is there a way to trigger it? My phone could use a well-deserved rest! lol

I was going to wait until gokhanmoral reuploaded it but since you've had no problems with deep sleep its worth a try.

Be aware that the 3 optimisation .zip files, battery, performance and default, will all show on screen, "performance", when being flashed but I can confirm that they are 3 different .zips and settings.

Deep Sleep has not been an issue with any of these optimisations.

UPDATE

Interestingly, I can set Max: down from 1200MHz down to 800MHz in both SetCPU and Voltage Control but after rebooting, CPU Spy is showing 1000MHz and 1200MHz, albeit with minimal or no usage.

I've put it back on now to test the deep sleep issue...
 
No complaints from me. I'm using the battery zip, have undervolted and have lowered the bus frequencies. Its still as smooth and quick as ever and I left my phone for about 50 minutes and came back to 75% deep sleep.:)
 
*** Word of warning with Gokhan's battery,performance and default scripts. ***

If you have set defaults on boot with voltage control or SetCPU, then it will be these settings that take precedence, as Gokhan's init script is run first (01Siyah), but for example, voltage control's (S91voltctrl) will be run AFTER this, so it is this that will set the default governor etc.

Gokhan's battery.zip's default governor is lulzactive for example, so if you have set another in voltage control, you will notice this to be the one active on bootup.

You will need to remove voltage control's boot settings (or untick set on boot in SetCPU) for Gokhan's parameters to take effect.
 
Just choose "remove boot settings" in voltage control butty.
