Skype gains Send Money functionality for PayPal transfers

PayPal just made it easier for IM and video chat addicts to exchange money on mobile devices with direct Skype Android and iOS app integration.

This is long overdue but I'm surprised Skype just didn't develop their own solution. They already have a system of adding funds to your Skype account, couldn't they have leveraged that to make it seem more seamless?

Most people will use PayPal or Venmo or something similar. Even GMail added a "send money" feature but people rarely use it and most don't know it is even there. It seems like the standalone apps perform better.

I've typically used PayPal but used Venmo for the first time last week and it's pretty awesome.

Microsoft is slowly losing marketshare with all of its apps because features like this are years behind competitors. But I heard the source code for Skype was so bad when they bought them out, they spent months trying to get a workable product out of the "old" Skype.
