Skype Latest for Evo

I FINALLY found an EVO from an authorized Sprint Retailer store. They got 3 in that morning... I bought the last one at 2pm..... crazy.

Nevertheless, I am 100% happy... and in love with this thing. Absolutely no complaints.

I have a question though.... I have a skype account... and I "thought" I could use it on the EVO... but when I go to Skype mobile, it says only Verizon customers can use it? Is that true?

Can someone walk me through using skype on my EVO??

No Skype for EVO/Sprint. Are you just after free calls?

If you are, I might know a way to help you with Google Voice.

Yea.... I just downloadedFring..... and found a video on how to use it.

In the video though... Skype was a choice to add friends.

On my EVO though... it's not even listed as a choice.

So what is the alternative? How does the wife video call me from her desktop on my evo using video conferencing??

She doesn't. Unless you are near a computer without a webcam. Then you can use DroidCam to connect Evo to PC as camera and skype over the PC. Not a big deal there... this equals FAIL!

Skype has a partnership with verizon and apple so they have it right now eexclusively . But its suppose to hit the evo sometime this year.

Yeah I just installed the skype beta and have it running on my android right now. works fine.

If you want, send me a msg with your email

Mmm...it seems to be working on WiFi

But im not using it anymore. That thing sucks up battery. Keeps your CPU up running at 100% the entire time

if skype works on droid phones for verizon, i can not see how someone cant get it to work on non-verizon phones... how are they locking it out by your provider?

Umm have you not been reading? lol

I just said i have it installed and running two-4 post above yours

thats why i mentioned verizon, because on verizon you can do the video chat with skype, thought it was common knowledge... hence my reply... oh well, i'll just keep waiting for something that can video chat from phone to computer
