Help Skype? Please Help

I downloaded the free Skype app and signed in on my phone. I went to the PC to get my wife set up, and it's asking for a membership fee. I am a firefighter that works two 24 hour shifts per week. I have a 2 year old son and a 10 month old daughter. I of course have my trusty EVO 4G, but yesterday I bought a HP webcam, and I would love to see them while I'm working. Is there any other app other than Skype that does something like that?

Skype Chat is free. Skype Group chat has a fee. You would also have to pay for phone calls using Skype. If you are not rooted, the only other programs that do PC to Phone chat are Yahoo Messenger and Oovoo. I have tried all three and Skype is the best one of those three. Oovoo is pretty good and Yahoo echoes and the delay is worse than the other 2, IMHO. (I also use Google Talk w/video but my phone is rooted)
