Skype Video Calling

We know the phone is not being released with Skype after all, but does anybody know if it's been confirmed whether or not this feature will be added eventually? Skype has really been taking off and I want to be able to use it on my next phone.

Not to add to the insane amount of speculative posts on here, but I didn't see a thread directly related to this. My apologies if this has already been covered.

Skype is releasing an Android version of their program with video chat on Monday. It is highly unlikely that it would run on every android but the T-bolt.

It just isn't coming on the phone out of the package. You will need to go to the market and download and install it.

Ok can we please put these Skype / Netflix rumors to rest? Skype was suppose to be on the phone at launch and integrated into Sense UI. However Skype did not have the app ready by the time the TB was done, so if they are going to integrate it into Sense it will have to be done via an OTA update.

Skype announced that the Android app would be available on the Market by Feb. 28th, when that happens all Android phones (probably using 2.0 or later) will be able to have Skype. The TB will be able to use Skype, I don't understand where people are getting that the TB wont get Skype at all.

As for Netflix, the app isn't even coming out for a couple months. All we know about the app is that it will require the processor on the phone to have certain DRM keys to allow the app to run. The TB's 2nd gen Snapdragon has been verified as being one of the processors that has these keys. So the TB will be able to run the Netflix app.

I'm not sure why the Netflix thing is such a big deal with people right now as it was never even hinted at as a feature on this phone.

One of the beautiful things about Android over the Crapple Phone is the programs can use each other fairly easily and having Skype "baked in" really might be over stating it. It could very well be that when Skype installs their latest release it will feature intergratrion with the phonebook. Severakl apps seem to work together on Android. my Favorite being the Voice to Text program.

Agree... The whole "baked in" thing was just going off of what HTC announced when the phone was unvieled. I totally get what your saying and it is one of the reasons I love Android. My guess with what they meant with the "baked in" thing was that it would have it's own Sense Widgets... :)
