Skype Video chat?

I'm going to guess that it will be out shortly... With Microsoft just paying 8.5 billion for Skype, I would think they would want to get it out to the most devices it can.

The leaked Skype apk works okay for video chatting, but there are concerns that there could be the same security risk as official Skype available at the time (which has since been updated and fixed).

I have been using Fring lately which usually works pretty effectively, and you can video chat with up to three other people at once (including those on iOS).

Leaked skype app works perfect for me. I think it's the best video chat app out there so far. Haven't tried the update to Tango though but it was ass the last time I used it. Can anyone comment on video quality?

Leaked Skype .apk works fine for me. I've got it on my site here: Android ROM Site

I'd use Fringe or Tango, but I video chat regularly with people on a computer, so I need something that isn't just mobile-only.

Now that Microsoft bought Skype, I'll bet anything development for Android gets slowed down... you know how MS hates Android. I'll be glad when we get a good, stable Cyanogen with 2.3.4 GTalk video chat.

Microsoft really has nothing to gain by killing off Skype-Android development. They know as well as anybody that Windows Phone 7 is going nowhere and that right now, it's a niche market at best. They're not going to kill off the ad revenue from Android just because it's for a "rival" OS. That'd be like M$ killing off Office for Mac in order to force people to Windows. That would never happen.

M$ did pay 8.5BB for a company that is worth half that. As you see, They have done stranger things...

They even Made EBAY's bad investment look good :p

You obviously aren't familiar with Microsoft's business practices in the past. ;)

Grdlock,
Okay, I downloaded it from your website. Now, how do I launch it?? When I tried to download it said "the content was not supported. No application can be found to open this file. doyou still want to download it?" I said download but I don't know where it went or what to do. Any help is appreciated.

Make sure you check the box in "manage applications" that says "support apps from unknown sources" or something like that.
