I use tango and am not thrilled with it but its ok. I tried skype app from the market and could not get it registered. It kept telling me my phone # was not the right one for my device even though it put it in the field. I looked up the the country code to make sure I had it right, still no good.
what I found from reviews is that just as with skype for the PC the service is great but the current android app is poorly done.
The front camera on the ultra is VGA quality which is about the same as dvd or an old CRT monitor so its not the HD every one wants ( and really doesnt need) it is quite fine on a 3.5" screen.
The only reason I was interested in skype is because my moms Driod 3 doesn't play nice with Tango.
Both require a registration but from my experience and research Tango is the better choice.

your phone # ??? .... for me when i downloaded the app (from my phone) all it asked for was my skype ID and PASSWORD... entered them in and no problem.
if you dont have an account with skype already, posibly try creating one on a computer intead of the phone. registration is free (skype to skype)
the vga works fine, people see me clear (they say)... HD would probably be too much bandwith for it to even work on boost (but idk)... it does allow you to swith to the back camrea if you wanted better megapixles, but that would be a strange way to have a video chat.
