Root SkyRaider 3.3 Final

Well, I found a nandroid backup in a folder I could work with, Rebooted and tried it again. Same problem, It boots up and before I can even get through the setup, the phone freezes and reboots....Sucks, I really liked using Skyraider previously...

tried factory reset, wipe all cache, and clean install SR?

Yes I did that...Still sam problem....don't know what it is but my phone doesn't like this version of Skyraider...

I don't know if this will help, but when I installed it, I kept having issues installing it until I downgraded Clockworkmod. The latest version kept doing incomplete installs and causing FC hell. Doesn't sound exactly like your problem, but if nothing else is working, it might be worth a shot...

I like this more than virtuous due to stability. Virtuous would fc the bg process a lot. Skyraider only fc'd for the first time today in over three weeks or so.

Other stability reasons too.

i really like skyraider 2.5.

I then decided to go with 3.0 and it sucked a$$.

I waited for a final build and installed 3.3 and it kept rebooting constantly.

i then tried 3.3 v2 and the same issues..

Im now running revolutions latest and liking it so far.

From my understanding, the constant reboot problem happens if you're S-ON. Can you check if you're S-ON or S-OFF?

Boot in to Recovery and it should say it near the top of the screen.

I have 3.3 on nandroid so I'll try and do this from memory, although it should be documented on the XDA site. Anyway, you can do it one of 2 ways. Download terminal emulator or use adb shell. Connect to your shell and then type rotaryunlock if you want the rotary screens or tabunlock if you want the simple tab ones, hit enter. Choose the number of the one you want, hit enter, and the phone will reboot by itself with the new lockscreen.

I could use a little help on this if you mind...

First there are two options to download the lockscreens ... one through ROM Manager and the other is the ZIP file posted on XDA. Which do I do.

I tried ROM Manager method and booted into recover so I could go into the adb shell and when I typed "rotaryunlock" after the # it told me that

/sbin/sh: rotaryunlock: not found (the same with tab unlock)...

Please help

I dont know the answer, but if you already had issues using the RM method, why not try the other method? lol

I wonder if its worth upgrading to this if i have everything working fine?

I ask because i typically wipe all data and cache even if they dont suggest it, and it would be a pain in the ass for me right now lol

Doesnt seem like a large upgrade

I just backed up my ROM just incase it didn't work, and updated to 3.3.3 without doing a wipe. Worked flawlessly.

I had a similar experience with KK. Went back to stock, so far so good. Seems to be running pretty fast ans smooth. Not sure about battery life tho. I'm coming from Virtuous 3.1 with adrenylines kernel and it was awesome for me. Def would be curious what others might recommend for SR.

I'm having issues with receiving email. Using skyraider 3.3.3. I know the data connection goes dormant but I have to actually hit refresh within gmail to receive new. The data connection is grayed out until I actually attempt a connection (i.e. refreshing gmail, using browser). Also, launcherpro for whatever reason will not create a backup after ROM install. factory reset, installed ROM, reinstalled apps only with titanium. Tried uninstalling launcherpro and reinstalling with same results. Any help or suggestions is appreciated.

anyone know how to prevent ota updates... I thought running skyraider I would be safe from this but I just got the ota notification...

This version is WAY unstable for me, as in IncDoes DHD v0.1 unstable (that's really unstable.) ROM manager is broken, Astro is broken, eMMC is broken, etc.. NOT a final release.

this is very stable for me... its my uhoh I need a rom backup to go to... you didn't try to restore system files did you?

Skyraider 3.3 is the first ROM I've tried. Overall I like it but I am having some problems. I can't change the wallpaper and it shows one of my friends contact pictures as mine. Battery seems to have improved but, then again I've only ran it for 2 days now.

used it for a little while, feels much better than previous versions, don't have any issue since the latest update with some fixes.
