Okay, A few days ago I washed my phone in the washer. I took it out took the batter/sim card out, unscrewed the second back plastic piece, pried that off, and then disconnected all ribbon connections and other connections from the 'Mother board' itself and took that out. I let everything dry overnight under a desk lamp which produces a good amount of heat for a light. Next day put it all back together and after a few tries it came on. I was actually at the AT&T store giving it one last try when it came back on. Everything worked except there was no service. I had the O with a line through it at the top where the 'bars' should be. The guy at the store gave me a new sim card and that seemed to fix it. I called phones successfully and received texts. Once leaving the store, my service connection would switch between no service and full bars off and on every 10 min or so. During the time when I have full bars my internet connection which usually reads 4g or 4lte, would be either a G or an E with two up down facing arrows. I am assuming this is the slowest internet because I have never been able to wait long enough for it to load something. My question is, is there anything I can do physically to the phone to fix this problem? I feel like if I can find the internet or service components on the actual circuit board and clean any possible corrosion from the water drying off the connectors, or clean the connection between the sim card and the phone that I could fix this problem. If you have any suggestions or know which components those things are, please let me know.

Wow I once had a blackberry accidently fall onto a full sink and it worked fine once it dried off after about a day. Was it in the washer for the whole time or you notice it when you threw it in? I had a case on and pulled it out pretty quick so the damage was minimal. I heard you could throw the phone into some rice to suck up all the moisture but its something that needs to be done ASAP. Doesn't sound good but good luck.

It was in the washer for probably 3 min total before I realized i didn't have my phone. I pulled it out while it was still filling up with water so I don't know how long it was actually wet, no longer than 3 min though.

Look up this link: <link removed at Dalworth Restoration request> and call the company to see if they can help you. They salvage water damaged electronics.

Get a jar with a lid, tubberware container, or the like. Get some dry white rice and put it in the container with the phone and let set over night, maybe a couple of days. The rice will pull any moisture out of the phone.

This should have been done right away after drying the outside.

May still help. Plus it's easy and cheap.

Good Luck,

Rob
