My hobby is astronomy and I use Google Sky Map in the field right along with my telescope. It's really an excellent app.

The Skyview app allows you to view the sky lab as it goes past you can also get alerts when it is visible by the naked eye. Constellation's are also vividly pictured as well as the planets like Solorium app for droid, but you get it all in one app.
