For the second day in a row. :o
Anybody else has heard or experienced problems with the alarm?

The facts are these: the standard ICS alarm worked fine since a few days ago when i wanted to try some alarm apps with advanced features. I didn't like them so i removed them all, and now the standard one doesn't work anymore.

I'm not sure there is a casual relation between the facts here. I also recently installed advanced task manager and a file manager.

The alarm sings FINE when the phone is on or in standby, but DOESN'T activate in any way when it's switched off. All possible settings inside the alarm standard app have been checked throughfully to ensure the is nothing wrong. I don't know what to do here.
A full format is out of the question since the time I spent to install apps, write all the numbers in the index book, etc.

just to let you know, you do not need a task manager. this has been pointed out sometime last year. it is actually hurting more than helping.
if you do not care, then i will check the task manager so that it is not killing the alarm app.

also are you saying why does the alarm not turn on when the phone is off?

Thanks k. i removed the task manager, now the alarm works perfectly. If this isn't a life-threating bug i don't know what it is.:D

It's not a bug. Task Killer is doing what it is supposed to do--kill apps. Android is doing what it's supposed to do.

If you want to use Task Killer you need to set an exception for the alarm (and other apps that you also don't want it to ever stop). Or better, don't use it because Android doesn't need it.

Going on a tangent here. I downloaded the Sleep as Android app and had sleep recording on. The phone must have overheated because eventually it just shut down meaning I had to force restart it. That has happened twice which means I slept in twice. My boss was NOT happy :P

This alarm has screwed me over twice. It just did not go off when I set it to. Now everyday I have to set two alarms just so I don't have to worry. I wish this phone did not have so many problems.

Strange...I set mine almost daily while at work, to wake up after my nap-er, lunch hour. Has never failed me yet. I don't use it most days as a morning wake-up, since my good ol' Sony Dream Machine Alarm Clock is still kicking. I've done it on certain days, but I've never had it not go off yet. I will admit, there are some days I hate having a problem-free device, because I feel helpless with trying to help people diagnose issues :(

My old windows mobile 6 phone was always kind enough to let me sleep late. My last 3 Android slave drivers have kept me from sleeping late. I've always been worried about that since the winmo days so I do keep a back up alarm clock active.
