I'm the former founder of SlideME and did the client work on SAM, as well as all the mobile feeds. I just checked out the latest version (after 7 months of not using it). With all the content, it's gotten pretty damn slow and it did a lot of force closes on me when trying to scroll the list. I only designed it to handle 1K of apps, so I don't think the client can handle the current size of the market, which is over that.
A few days ago, I also had a rather bad experience with the guy currently running SlideME. I uploaded an app to SlideME (AppFriend, which shares app info on Facebook) and he got pissed off, deleted the app, revoked my account and banned my IP from accessing their site, all without an explanation. This seems pretty extreme to me and in my view, shows a rather ugly side to SlideME, one that isn't very open.
