Help Slider cuts off calls

I have an HTC Wildfire S and have to slide the annoying circle at the bottom of the screen to activate the phone. I have almost never been able to accept an incoming call because as I use the slider I also hit the red reject call button!

Do all Android phones work the same way or are there any that only require the user to press the green accept button? I've tried a couple of apps that claim to resolve the problem but they don't work on the latest Android version.

If you don't like the ring thing, install Go launcher and Go Locker. You then will be able to install different Go locker which change the ring into different things (I have the iphone slide one...pretty cool but not as responsive)

Don't use the ring to unlock the phone, slide the accept button into the ring. That will unlock the phone and accept the call at the same time.
