Help Slight delay when unlocking phone

[Iczer]

After I unlock my phone when receiving a text, there's a noticeable delay in when it allows me to drop down the task bar to view the text message. Is this an issue with stock? I installed Fresh 3.2 and it's a little better but there's still a delay. I'm thinking about installing a new Kernel, I hear the netarchy really speeds up the phone.
