Root slight problem...

weddle

Android Enthusiast
So in the process of getting my a500 back to stock for the official Ics update, I somehow managed to flash a rom meant for the a501...I'm not really sure what I need to do to get myself back to an a500 rom so I can get this update (seeing as it is completely stock/unrooted right now)

If more info is needed I'll gladly provide.

Tia!

IS your tablet fully working? If so you might just be able to do a root, and recovery guide for the a501 but don't take my word on this, it could mess you up pretty bad if it doesn't work.

I solved the problem by just re rooting using the a500 method (before I read your post...) then flashing a full package stock rom.
I've updated twice so far to 3.2.1 but now when I check for updates it says my device is up to date...

You may want to wait. Seems official pics update is quite buggy.
Not sure if it has been rooted or not yet....

According to what I've read over on acertabletforums, it looks like I have to wait whether I want to or not lol. But I read that due to said glitches, Acer has pushed the update back to may 17. I haven't talked to Acer support myself, but from reading other peoples problems (and acres track record with this) I think I believe it :(

Here's the link. Its post #70
Cannot update to ICS; excellent wifi, but poor coverage - Page 7
