Just spotted this on Amazon: Amazon.com: Amzer 1600 mAh Lithium Ion Standrad Battery for Samsung Captivate i897 and Samsung Vibrant T959: Cell Phones…

I'm honestly happy enough with the existing battery -- I have to try REALLY hard to kill it in a day -- but every extra mAh helps, right? Too bad this one is only 100mAh better than stock. Doesn't really seem worth $50 to me. But maybe, since this is listed as their "Standard" battery, they've got an extended one coming down the pipeline. I'd spend $50 for 2000mAh, easy.
 
that 100 extra mah is probably a marketing gimmick luring people into buying this battery. I am not looking for batteries until there is one that is 2000 mah and is same size as stock batt. Although I am not sure even then - my current batt lasts a day with heavy use, so I charge it overnight. A batt that lasts a couple of hours longer will screw up my charging schedule, I will have to be charging it while it is still at 50%.
 
I picked up 2x Samsung Galaxy S OEM batteries + wall charger for $11 through Ebay. They work great and it's nice not worrying about battery life having an extra full battery on me when I go out. Wall charger takes about 5-6 hours to fully charge a battery. Slow, but doesn't matter really having 3x batteries to rotate through. For $55, I could get 10x Samsung Galaxy S OEM batteries + 5 wall chargers, but that's overkill, haha. Here's the link to my purchase:

I wouldn't mind the extra recklessness that an extra 500mAh per day would by me, if it were the same size as the stock battery.

Haha, it would seem that way. And I do feel like a broken record saying that over and over. It just seems like everyday or every other day I see someone creating a new thread about battery life problems. And since I have no more worries about battery life since getting those extras, I just wanted to share it with others so they can stop worrying about battery life too :). There are dozens of different postings by different sellers for Samsung Galaxy S batteries on Ebay that people can choose from. I only post that listing because that is the one I bought and it worked out well for me. I hope one day to stop seeing new threads about battery life worries so I can stop being a broken record, haha :o.

The ebay auction is not there anymore, but there are 1 battery + charger combos for $9.

Is your charger white or black? Does the battery fit as well as the original? It sort of looks thinner.

I just got this in the mail this morning. I put in one of the batteries they sent and charged it while at work. Just got home and swapped out the standard battery. Both batteries fit the same in the charger and phone. I've only the battery they sent in the phone for about 20 minutes so I can't comment on how it holds up.
I'll edit this in a few days with the results.

It looks like the auction ended, now he is selling them for $14, for the charger and 2 batteries. You can find them cheaper so I won't link to him. It is the same as the pictures in the post below this one.

BTW it is a black charger, it also has a usb port.

Searching Samsung Galaxy S batteries will pop up tons of listings.

My charger is black. Slow charging, but does the job. Light indicates when battery is full.

The battery fits the same as the Captivate. Maybe the shadows make the Galaxy battery look thinner or something. They are exactly the same proportions to my eyes.
