Noobie guide:

Does it work on Desire?

I need a sling box at home,correct?

Where can i purchase it?Can i buy it anywhere in Europe?

Do I need a satellite dish or cable will work?

Lets say I live in Norway(I do :P) and I go on holyday to China, Can I watch my TV there? The siteclaims I can see everywhere...

Just some questions:p

You need to purchase a Slingbox solo, pro, hd etc then (when slingplayer mobile is released) you will have to buy the app. the desktop pc version is free.

Slingplayer mobile is in private Beta testing right now, so I don't know when it will be out for us to buy.

Slingplayer mobile needs data. Data costs abroad (not in your country) would be astronomical. But if you're willing to pay 1000's of Euros, yes it is possible. Would be better in a hotel with broadband / wifi network though.

You need a source to Sling (stream) I use a HD cable box. Basically,. the sling boxes intercept the signal from the Video source before it gets the the TV screen. You plug your cable box into the sling, then the sling into the TV. It then connects to your home network to make it accessible over the internet.

You need a source to stream before you get a sling box.

Hope this helps.

Was a huge help but Slingplayer for Android its already released as you can read in the link i posted.

So I only need to buy a sling player box...where around here?

I use wifi everywhere I go(i doubt I will find them in China though) in Europe.

I don't know how much they work out at for you, but I love it. Its very worth it. Just make sure you have the right one for your source. Do lots of research.

Right one? I have 33%chance of being right since there is only 3 for sale here :P
Correct me if I am wrong but the only difference is "HD or not HD"?

Theres solo and pro. They both support HD component. But I said right one for your source. Or to put it another way. make sure you will be able to do what you want to do with your source.

I have a virgin media HD cable box. It outputs to HDMI, HD component and Scart.

Now If I put the scart RGB into the slingbox solo, when I change chanel, the guide does not show up on the slingplayer. This is due to the cart on cable box not having a tuner.

So I have to use HD component. But I play it through my TV on HDMI, so if I want to watch my sling player, i have to first set my virgin box as Component before I can.

You have to research how well a slingbox will work with your source.

Replace "Virgin" with local brand and we have the same.

Whats the difference between solo and pro?Beside the price.

I think its just how many sources you can connect. 1 source with the solo, More with the pro.

Just google your local brand cable box with slingplayer to find out if anyone has any issues.
