Has anybody else experienced very slow GPS locking? Sometimes it takes several minutes on my wife's Elite. One of the side affects of this problem is that when you go to use navigation, it comes back with an error message "Google Maps Navigation is not yet available in this location". I haven't seen any other complains in this forum so I wonder if it's just the phone.

I had an issue with mine yesterday actually, but it's normally almost immediate. I use tasker to turn on GPS when I launch apps that need it (and off after I exit them to save battery) and I have excellent signal by the time any of them load.

My wife had a really slow GPS lock on her elite. I just rooted it and installed harmonia on it and now it works right away. I think the stock rom didn't have a good flash.
Awesome! I've been looking for an excuse to root and rom my wife's phone. Now I've got one.

Also, GPS Status greatly assists in Google Maps/Navigation.
