Help Slow home button

Well I've had the phone a while now and the damn home button seems to take ages to get home. I think it's currently taking about 3 seconds! Just wondering if there are any ways to get it instant or significantly less than 3 seconds?

Has it always been this way? my phone has recently suffered a slowdown also.

IIRC, the lag is to accommodate the double-click delay. That is, if you click the home button twice within the delay, you get the Voice talk screen. So to distinguish a single click from the first of a possible double-click, the delay has to elapse.

This delay might be adjustable if you're rooted.

hmm im not sure if rooting could help, im rooted and im not sure of any way to reduce that lag. although mine never takes 3 seconds, always less than 2 actually. but yeah, its a bit of a lag. im more irritated with the lockscreen lag actually, this one doesnt annoy me at all

Ok, I cleared the ram and it's back to normal. Still not instant which kinda sucks.
