Need advice. My SGS3 has been really laggy of late, I mean that when in an app, browser etc.... when I press the home key to go back to my home screen it will go back to a blank screen and it can take 5-10secs for the icons/widgets to load again. I rang Samsung last week and was tokd to do a factory reset which I dome but made no difference. Any ideas?

Have u gave free version of Nova a chance mate? U can import your TW set up to it.
I only used TW for an hour max, id been usin Go Launcher before the s3 so i put that straight on and it had the redraw problems like youre sayin but with nova its like what Audi is sayin, like the homescreen is cached and instantly there when i return to home

I actually purchased Nova prime last year when I had my HTC Sensation. I might give it a go later on tonight after work. To be fair I actually liked it on my Sensation.

I posted on Samsungs UK Facebook page and they are telling me that it might be an app causing it and to do ANOTHER reset then leave it a few days before getting apps again. Two factory resets within two weeks is just uncalled for.

Funklogic, do you use a home switcher app to switch between Nova and TW? If so what one?

Thanks for all your help folks.

Sorry pal don't really know what you mean there. Can you explain?

Android's memory management tends to dump programs that aren't being used (i.e., close them.) This happens to include your home screens and widget info, as they obviously take up memory. So, if you have a bunch of programs opened in the background and then go back Home, it will have to close some of the other apps while it is filling up the memory for your stock Launcher, hence the lag.

There are ways around this, including build.prop edits, that users have integrated into the aftermarket launchers. Basically, you can change the priority level so that Launcher is last to close, or you can set it to never close. Most launchers, like Nova, do the latter.
