I've seen lots of folks blaming jelly bean release on a sudden slow, laggy performance
I had the same issue
After installing avatar or some other 4.2.* based rom my note was extremely slow, or so I thought
Just wanted to share that the culprit in my case was Blaze_4G_LB7_ICS.zip
So, what I did?
After experiencing slow degrading performance, I tried installing different roms - to no avail....
If that's what you are experiencing, start your i717 in download mode (volume down+power) and run this file on your windows system: SGH-I717UCLC5.exe
This is a 900+ megs file that replaces everything with stock stuff from att
my i717 was unlocked when I ran it - it remained unlocked after I've done it a few times (experimenting and trying to isolate the problem and identifying the culprit)
After running SGH-I717UCLC5.exe reboot the phone and click cancel on the language screen and escape other crap - then shut it down, start in download mode and flash via Odin ATTGalaxyNoteRootICS image - file is called odin_n1717_cwm_recovery_b4.tar
I guess you can use any rooted rom for that matter, just make sure it's for i717
start the phone and then shut it down and install some nicier rom - I had success with liquid Liquid-JB-v2.0-RC7-quincyatt.zip and Padawan_8.zip
they are very fast until you apply Blaze_4G_LB7_ICS.zip - then all of them come to a screeching halt ((
now, I tested a few times with 2 different roms these:
T-mobile SGH-T989 KID
T-mobile SGH-T989 VKL1
apparently these are NOT for i717 - if you install these, your i717 won't even see your sim card
I'm still researching which radio will do 4g on my i717 on tmobile network in Virginia, USA
I had 4g working on my i717 since I got this att i717 about a year ago - yes, it worked on tmobile network in Virginia/DC USA, but I decided to upgrade to android 4.2 and that's why this new round of phun began ))
my previous one is described here: http://androidforums.com/samsung-ga...ed-up-my-note-not-badly-though-soft-core.html
