Slower speeds after root?

Was reading a poast earlier here, about slow 3g/4g speeds, and a comment got my attention. Said something about speeds being slower after rooting the phone. I used the stpes on this forum to root it, but the post said something about fixing it, and getting the speeds back to normal. I notice sometimes i get no signal, and then full bar 4g depinding on where im at, location is high point, north carolina. Was wondering about any tips apps or anything to help the speed that has been proven to work. Think it was codegerm that said about slower speeds after rooting.

Re: Slow 4G/3G speeds
Just to be sure, you are completely stock, not rooted or anything? I had a massive decrease in 4g speeds AFTER rooting and can tell you how to correct that but if you're bone-stock it's irrelevant.

And don't give up. It's a sweet phone. Complain to Boost if stock or keep up on the forums for help, there's a wealth of knowledge here. I know it sucks waiting and not having the device perform the way it should but once it's straightened out you'll really like it!" - from FLAWLESSVW in the (http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s2-boost-mobile/678811-slow-4g-3g-speeds.html ) post

Link, as long as you followed that guide I pointed you to in our PM I think you'll be ok. Remember that 4g speeds will vary greatly based on network traffic, time of day, location, etc.

You should be able to switch the Speedtest app so it shows your speeds in mb rather than kb by default.

As long as you're able to get like maybe 4mbps or better "sometimes", and better (I'd hope) other times, I'd say you're ok. Usually those who have the 4g problem after root are down well below 1-2mbps. Test it when you are in populated areas, etc.

Use this map to find where boost/Sprint has 4g coverage in your area and test near a 4g tower. I see up to 10mbps near work and around 5-6mbps near home on 4g. http://www.boostmobile.com/coverage/
EDIT: this coverage map is better since it shows actual 4g tower locations:
http://www.clear.com/coverage Enter your address and zip to find your tower.
