Root Slower WiFi speeds

I used to get around 16mbps speeds on speedtest with stock rom, but only getting around 7mbps now, with MIUI rom and lordmod 3.1 kernel. Anyone know why this could be?

How does the signal strength compare against the stock rom? Did you have WiFi Analyzer installed?

Silly question, but is it consistent or have you only noticed it now? Could just be fluctuation on the line?

Nope, never had WiFi analyzer installed. It seems to be pretty consistent. Tried a few times last night, and got around 7mbps, and the same for a few tries today. My 3G speeds seem to be the same as before though.

I know another member (Sombre) said they had WiFi issues using CM7 and as far as I'm aware, doesn't CM7 use the lordmod kernel? Could be connected?

I don't think he fixed it, he just went back to stock.

Using MIUI atm, liking it more than CM7. Didn't check my speed with it either. Oh well, it's not a huge deal... can live with 7 mbps on my phone . The benefits outweigh the slightly slower WiFi for sure.

Flashed ARHD with its recommended radio, and WiFi speeds seem to be back to normal.

Loving the sense 3.0 stuff that you can flash onto ARHD... this stuff is pretty addictive; wasting time on it instead of studying for exams in 2 days time :s
