Not to be cruel, but "dumb asses who are new to android" probably shouldn't be diving into things like rooting and the various "lag fix" hacks which carry with them all sorts of new issues and risks. These are advanced procedures meant for those who understand the fundamentals of how to use them as well as accept the ramifications and risks.

Hey Karl! So I just wanted to know why exactly you want root either than to perform a lag switch. Root isn't too helpful unless you know what to do with it, but if you would like to learn I suggest checking out all the cool things you can do with root around the numerous websites and then decide if you would still like to continue!
