Help Sluggish after upgrading to Android 4.1

Hi,
I upgraded my Samsung Galaxy SIII to Android Jellybean 4.1
The phone has been very sluggish after that, to the extent, it takes a full 10 seconds for the keypad to open.
On getting incoming calls, the caller ID won't recognise the number for couple of seconds.
I have tried rebooting and clearing the RAM many times, but it doesn't help.
I have plenty of free space. Have used just 1.83 GB of the available 11.35 GB internal storage.
Even the clock widget doesn't show the correct time.:confused::confused:

Thanks,
I am not using a custom kernel.
What exactly does a factory reset do? Will the OS go back to 4.0?
And will I loose my settings and data?

Unrooted. Youll lose everything mate :(
Not contacts of course, they stay with you forever.
If youre on wifi, when you reset and sign into the phone, itl download all the apps you had but theyl be fresh, not set up how you liked them.
Nice to start fresh again though mate... just be prepared to sit for an hour while all your apps download over wifi lol (only playstore apps, any pirate apps will be lost)

P.s, youll stay on jellybean dont worry, itl just feel much better :)

The other option is to root the phone, download Titanium, backup all your apps, and then reset. After that, you can restore your apps and they'll be exactly as they were before resetting.

It may be sluggish for an hour or two but will get better. There is a lot fo background stuff happening after such a large update. Will take a bit for it to work through it all.

Same is what happened to me after upgrading to Jelly Bean, some one suggested me to factory reset but that didn't work even.
Than i found that power saving option was enabled and the laggy thing went away after i disabled it.
Power saving mode actually slows down the phone.

Will try disabling just the CPU power saving. Will let the screen power saving and other options enabled. Let's see how things work out then.
