Small button/cover on back below kickstand

I've read that it may be part of the antenna or something, but I really have no idea. I do make sure I look at cases that have the cutout for it, though, just in case. :D

It's funny you mention that. All the cases for the most part have that hole. I wonder if that's for the 4G LTE?
 
It is for a feature called conference call. If you lay the phone face down it is supposed to go in to conference call mode, but you must be on a call.
 
I was watching a review and a HTC rep. said that the Thunderbolt has 3 microphones All reviewers are saying two microphones for noise cancellation but the HTC spokes person claimed there are three.

I will check this out when I get mine today via Fed Ex
 
Something tells me that they planned to put something there but later omitted it and just plugged it up. The Case designers left a hole in cases for a reason.

hopefully someone will do a teardown of the TB and see whats under there.
 
Don't a lot of phones have a port for an external antenna? I think my original Droid had one under the battery cover. I would ASSUME this is an external antenna port...but this is a guess. I am not in a position right now to remove the cover and see.

ok, i just TOFTT. It is the typical external antenna port.

Nothing to see here...literally =P

there are 4 in total so 3 for noise cancelling.
