Small grey bar on left edge of screen

I have a small grey bar about 3/4 of an inch long on the left edge of my screen. What is this?

have you swiped it to the right, it may bring up a side screen like on my Note 9 ?

It's like a tab that either can be slid up or down OR it is a tab that corresponds with the dots along the bottom portion of your home screens...

You're right, I swiped it to the right and it was to turn on TV mode. Thanks for your help!
