Root Small LeeDroid Problem

JohnnyBravo1000

I'm currently running 2.3d and I've noticed it has become a little sluggish - the first time I have experienced this on a LeeDroid ROM ever!

I was just wondering what steps I should take to try and rectify this problem?

By sluggish, I mean it takes the phone a little longer to "wake up" when I click the trackpad. I also get the LeeDroid screensaver/wallpaper when exiting apps on a few occasions.

I've run cache cleaner and still have over 100MB of internal memory available to me.

I'm considering a full wipe and then flashing 2.4, but I'm not sure that will help or solve the problem?

Any suggestions welcome.

Cheers.

Like anything, they get bogged down over time.

Nandroid, full titanium backup, wipe and full ti restore.may do the trick

Could it be some kind of memory leak? Have you installed any apps recently? 2.4 is very good so far, mind you I found 2.3 along with the 27 kernel to be a good combination.

I find just a full reboot every few days helps to move things along. Try also going to 2.4. Mine speeded up but was probably just due to the cache wipe

Thanks for all the responses. I cleared the cache (which I do quite regularly anyway) and rebooted the phone. It seemed to improve until this morning when the phone started showing the LeeDroid wallpaper and displayed a "loading" message while the homescreens returned.

Is this related to the phone? The SD card or something else?

I've cleared the cache and rebooted and it seems to have improved again.

Thanks for the response. I will probably do that when I flash 2.4.

Shouldn't I only restore the "green" apps from Titanium? Doesn't a full restore cause problems? Or at least have the potential to cause problems?

I also found 2.3 to be very solid, which is why I have found it strange that it's been slightly sluggish

I'm not aware of any memory leak. I have installed a few apps, but I've removed the ones which were installed prior to the phone under performing.

I usually do this anyway. Hopefully the problem will improve soon! :D

Only going from one rom toanother (eg from leedroid to gingervillain).

for leedroid to leedroid it should be fine, although the less you restore, the less chance of anything bad being transfered over.

I had a similar problem with leedroid 2.3d when I first flashed it. I tried rebooting but it would only clear up the issue for a bit. Ran system monitor to check for rogue apps but nada. Eventually switching my setcpu class to ondemand seemed to do the trick for me. I think leedroid sets this to smartass by default? I also upped the screen off setcpu from bottom to ~240ish. Not sure if this was the original problem but the phone is running sweet as a nut since.

I always use on demand for screen on and off. Its just the best all rounder IMHO. I dont like smartass at all.

When turning the screen on, it can lag if the screen on and screen off governors are different, so best to use the same for both.

If you have a kernel that goes as low as 128Mhz, this is too low for the Maximum CPU speed on a screen off profile. So I have 128 Min, 245 Max.
