Smartphone shipments decline during the first quarter of 2016

While China and India's smartphone markets are growing at a staggering rate, global smartphone sales appear to be stagnant. During the first quarter of 2016, smartphone shipments came in at 291 million - 1.3% lower than Q1 of 2015 and 18.6% lower than the previous quarter. Samsung is still positioned as the number one smartphone vendor on the globe with Apple in second, followed by Huawei, Lenovo, Xiaomi and LG.

The improvements from phone to phone are no longer as earth shattering as they were in the earlier days.

True wireless charging will be the next big shift that causes shipments to skyrocket. In my opinion. Most likely from something like Energous WattUp technology.

I'd like to see some other big improvements but not sure where game changers will be.
