smiley/emoticon issue

[ayaznoor]

i wonder why Android only sees as a smiley icon, not the : ) [without the nose] and same goes for most of the other smileys. everybody doesnt have android, and people dont usually include "nose" when texting smileys, and i end up reading the characters instead of seeing the cute smileys, which is what i dont like, i mean its not that serious, just a little thing that bothers me :/

does anybody else feel the same as i do?

Well, it's an Android system issue, can't do anything to change it if you are using your stock Messaging app...but you can have emoticons with by using other messaging apps from the Play Store...

Is there an app that shows emoticons for both and so it wouldn't matter how someone sent it?

Nope...only shows if the messaging app has that built in it...
