I'm experiencing wake lag

So try using smartass, I hear a few people around here saying it took care of that. I use wheatley myself and barely ever have a problem.

Can try raising your min cpu value as well.

I guess the best bet really though would be to read up in the governors and see what they do, such as brazilianwax. That is supposed to raise performance over an on demand I think, and still conserves battery, so that might also be a good one to look at. Raising min CPU value is a sure fire way to eliminate wake lag, the question is will it kill off your battery quicker, and is that a problem. That's the whole reason I run wheatley, I can leave CPU values alone, be undervolted, or underclocked if I prefer. And there is little to no lag, and my performance us great. My set up is deadline/wheatley and I'm undervolted -50 with overclock frequencies stabalized.

Hey MB! Got me curious, would you suggest he should or should not have it enabled to help with the lag?

Definitely should not have it enabled. It always gave me trouble
