Hello!

I have a Samsung Galaxy Ace phone and I would like to connect to a GSM network, so to say to use it as an SMPP gateway to send and receive SMS messages. When I was looking for some solution, I saw one that was called Ozeki Android SMPP SMS Gateway. Im just looking opinions, experiences about this gateway, anything that might help in my work!

Thanks!

A.C.

Hello and welcome, AlCa87. I clicked the "user reviews" for that app in Play Store and was presented with, "be the first to review...." ;)

Obviously there is little to be said about it by users at the present time. It might be a good idea to put off your project until more input about that program is available from users. Of course, checking around for alternatives might be a good idea, as well.

Hi Everyone,

I'm happy to see such a topic. I'm in a similar situation... I was seeking some useful user experience and opinion or any other information from an 'everyday' user in connection with Ozeki Android SMPP SMS Gateway.

Frisco, as I saw, the Ozeki app has got several good reviews by now... Let's see: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ozeki.androidsmppsmsgatewaylite&hl Almost positive... I guess it could be encouraging. Otherwise, I took a look at the SMS Gateway that you suggested, but the two apps are not exactly the same. I guess so. Ozeki app uses SMPP protocol...

I decided to install Ozeki Android SMPP SMS Gateway and I have to say that it was an absolutely good decision. It works well on Galaxy Ace 2... really good. I am considering to buy the Full edition. I just want to ask one question from the other user: Is it worth to install Full edition as well?

Thank you so much for your answer, my friends! Dwayne

I use it in conjunction with Ozeki's NG gateway to send SMS from my applications. It works fine. However, I am in contact with Ozeki's Support now because I discovered a serious problem.

You will find out your Licensed Version will work fine with expensive phones (i.e. Galaxy Grand DOUS, Galaxy Nexus) but will fail with mid-range/low-range Galaxy Phones such as Galaxy Pocket, and Galaxy ACE running 2.3.x OS.

I still haven't gotten a satsifactory answer from Ozeki. The Trial will work on all phones. The licensed software will attempt to verify License upon loading, and unfortunately on the two mentioned low-range/mdi-range phones, it will fail!

I thought I could break away from installing GSM Modems which are hard to find and a frustration to config sometimes, but now I am even more frustrated.

Whoever developed their License Verification module must have done something that not all android phones/operating system like!

It's funny that they told me in their initial response check if you have internet connection on your phone!! I have three flavors. SIM Enabled internet, Wi-Fi internet, and Wi-Fi internet with proxy. I tried everything. All attempts fail.

What's mroe funny is that I still have no issues with the Galaxy Nexus and the Galaxy Garand DUOS but these are expensive phones to BURY for a dedicated project.

Hope you find the above useful
