SMS app

I have been a Handcent user for a few years now but I am finally tired of the lag, it seems to be getting worse. I uninstalled it and noticed right away the difference. I am currently using the stock sms app but I really do love the popup feature I grew accustomed to with Handcent. I am hoping y'all have a suggestion of another app I could use that would not cause such lag.

Go SMS has been a favorite of mine. Seems to be exactly like handcent, except faster in my experience.

I am also using Go SMS. It allows you to pick a feature profile or to select the features you have access to. I just wanted it for the popout reply box and large message batch send, so I run the light profile. I'd even picked a theme that is close to stock as possible.

I have been using chomp sms since I had my evo and love it. There are so many ways to customize it and it has the pop up feature you're looking for.
