SMS Backup always worked well for sending copies of all my text messages to my gmail archive. It says "Unfortunately, SMS Backup has stopped" when I try to do the first backup. Any information or alternate apps?

I ran into the same problem and found SMS Backup +, it's a great ap that can log to your same SMS folder in Gmail.

It can also log your call as well if you need that, its optional.

SMS Backup + seems to be working! (crazy what adding a "+" can do...) Seems to be made by the same people and everything.

I don't know if it's better, but since we all have gmail (android phones) I like the idea of keeping it all together, simplified, unified and well worth my 8 quarters

Does SMS backup plus do mms as well? When I originally went looking the back up apps only supported SMS. I wanted a way to keep pics.

It says mms not supported yet. So it will probably log the text in an mms but not the pic. Backup to Gmail will save the pics themselves as well.

Sounds like that is only regarding restoring the backup back to the phone.
