Help SMS Drafts/Pictures glitch

Not sure if this has been addressed already, but I have two problems:

One, I cannot delete pictures without using a file explorer to go through my phone, find all thumbnails/copies of a picture, and delete them manually. Sometimes, pictures will still show up in my Gallery as broken files and I have to delete them again.

The second problem is considerably more annoying. I once backed out of a text message in the middle of composing it and it saved it to drafts. Now, after deleting the draft and the entire message thread, every time I open the thread with this specific person to send a new text, the 'draft' text appears and I have to delete it before I can type my message. How do I remove all record of this draft?

As far as your first problem, I'm not sure I understand the issue completely. What happens when you delete them from the Gallery? They still show up sometimes when you delete them? If you delete the photo with a file explorer, you are deleting the thumbs and prefetch data (if any)? I think you shouldn't see the thumb in gallery after you have deleted the original and done a reboot, but I could be wrong. Worth a try.
What happens when you delete using gallery? Have you tried a different pic browser like QuickPic? Then what happens? If all else fails with this issue I would try a factory reset. That would really bother me...

The second problem should be solved if you go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications> go to the "All" tab on the top and find "messages" then "Clear Data". Reboot. Fixed?

The messaging problem was solved, thank you.

When I deleted pictures from the gallery and exited the gallery, the thumbs would show up in the gallery but the pictures would look like broken images. I deleted everything I could find (thumbs and pictures) using Explorer, and now the thumbs randomly re-appear but THEY now look like broken images too.
 
What happens if you delete photos from your computer while your SD is mounted? Same thing? If so, how about formatting your SD card and starting fresh with no pics, then load your backup of the ones you wanted to save and go from there?
