Hello all,

New user to the phone here, just moved from the HTC desire and there are a few things that i miss / cant find how to work on this phone as was hoping you might be able to help me.

1- The desire had a Led which flashed once you had received a sms / email, i know there is no led in the galasy s 2 but are there any apps that could alert me without my having to press the power button?

2- The time shown on the homescreen does not link to clock/alarm settings when pressed, i know i can get to the settings from my menu but again are there replacemt apps that might have ths feature.

Any other tips or pointers would be appreciated also.

Thanks

On point 2, I downloaded an app called "Make your clock" which enabled me to make a nice 2x1 clock widget (same size as I had on my HTC) and set it to click through to the clcok app.

Couldn't find anything more "off the shelf", but it's not complicated, only took me 5 minutes... and you end up knowing that your clock is unique (even if that's not a very exciting thing to know)!

The clock on the home screen is a widget - if you put the clock app on the homescreen clicking on that will take you to alarm settings

For what it's worth, I took a screenshot of my homepage for a different issue, but it illustrates how I've got "Make your clock" looking.... you can also have a semi-transparent or solid etc background to your clock too if you like. The main things for me though are that it doesn't take up a whole 4 icon line, and I can tap it to get to alarm clock / timer:

Would you besotted kind as to report back on noled? The Market reviews seem to think it kills the battery but I am missing my n1 trackball!

Beautiful widgets has a clock and weather widget. You can customise it so that if you touch the time it will take you to your clock settings. You can touch the weather to bring out a more detailed weather info etc.

I charged my phone over night unplugged it at 5.40am today and having only sent a few texts my battery is 92% at 8.30. I do leave wifi on and its been on 3G since i left the house this morning.

As its only my 3rd day with the phone not sure if thats good or not but hope that info helps you.
