SMS folder location

I recently factory reset my HTC Incredible S. I used Easy Backup to back up everything prior to the reset. I then downloaded the latest app of Easy Backup & when I go to restore, it tells me there is nothing to restore.
I've checked the SD card & the backup files are there. Has anyone had this problem?

Can anyone please tell me the folder that sms & mms are stored in?
Can I gain access to this folder after a factory reset?

the data is stored within the app. you need something like mms backup which will move any mms or sms to the sd card.

and after you do a factory reset you will loose the data.......so unless you move them to the card they will be gone.

what phone do you have?

I originally used a program called Easy Backup which backed up everthing to my SD card. I also copied all the folders on the phone to my PC before I factory reset.

When I downloaded the latest Easy Backup app & tried to restore the sms files, the app says "Ops! Can't process file. Please select a valid backup file".

I can only presume that the latest version doesn't recognise the previous version backup.

Since that didn't work I thought I could copy the relevant folder back from my PC.

there should be an easy backup folder found on the sd card then. if it is going to be anywhere that is where you should find it.

In case it helps, the actual message database is /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/mmssms.db.

You will need to be rooted to access it directly (as opposed to via a message backup app).
