Help SMS Messaging not working

I activated my LG Optimus V through Virgin Mobile yesterday, wasn't experiencing any problems (could use web, text, email, etc), and my phone number transferred easily to the V so i could start using it right away, which was awesome, but today i noticed that i hadn't received any SMS messages (texts) from people all day. Within messaging it says that all the messages i sent out 'sent' but when i tested to see if my mom's HTC phone (through T-Mobile) received my texts, it did not.
Data connection is working fine, haven't tried MMS, but less concerned about that working properly, and can access Apps, web, and email fine, but NO SMS texting.
Has anyone else experienced this problem, and know a quick fix so i don't have to call VM and most likely go through a long and tedious tech support process, any help would be awesome!
 
Hi man, this is not a really problem. I have an optimus one silver. After i have installed some application like process manager, i have stopped accidentally the sms service. I have fix that only with a reboot of my phone. I hope this will work for you too.

if you use also an startup manager please take a look there because it is possible that some important services to be stopped.

Can you receive and make calls? If not then that means your phone is not programmed correctly. I had the same problem. Go to settings on your phone and click about phone. If your phone number is not showing under my phone number then it is not programmed correctly. You will have to call Virgin Mobile to fix it.
