Help SMS/MMS question

I am typically a stock kinda girl - not much on using apps for things that there are stock programs for, like messaging. HOWEVER, that being said, I am thinking of switching my SMS over to something different. What are your favorites and why? Need to decide what I want to use and really don't have a lot of info to go on!

GOSMS is among the more popular SMS programs. From minimal settings in the Lite version to extended preferences in the Pro mode. It's completely free and has a vast variety of customization functions. Just search GOSMS in the Android Market.

Handcent is a great SMS/MMS app also. Lots of options with this app. Free. Works very well for me.
