Help sms no tone

when most people send me a text my phone notification will sound and work perfectly but when my wife, no jokes please, texts me my phone does not make a sound. The phone receives the text but does not notify me. What can I do? :confused:
 
If you go to your wifes entry in the phone book, there is an option at the bottom for block caller, is that checked per chance?

Also, are you using the SMS app that came with the phone, or an alternative like GoSMS etc?
 
I still hear a notification tone for my emails, but cannot get one for texts, not even the envelope shows up in the notification bar. I have a wildfire s.
