SMS Notification not working properly

When I receive SMS texts my notification light will turn blue and my phone will vibrate, but it will take a couple beats for the message to actually show up. Anyone else having this problem?

I have an unrooted Galaxy Nexus and I use Handcent and Light Flow LED. I've also diasbled the stock messaging app.

try disabling handcent and using the stock. Thats the first thing you should do. I would guess its Handsent not working poperly, but when trouble shooting anything you should start removing Custom options/apps one at a time to find the problem.

if removing handcent doesnt fix it reboot your phone
