SMS notification sound wrong

I changed to LeeDroid v2.5 a while ago, all ok except for an odd bug where the wrong notification sound is heard when receiving a text. Even though I've set the notification sound preference to a custom sound for the stock messaging and Handcent, but it just plays whatever was playing on Mixzing when it was last used and doesn't stop unless I see to it.
Any ideas on how to resolve this? Which file is the notification preferences stored in?

My HTC Inspire just started doing the same thing. Instead of my 2 second sound I have selected, it's playing an mp3 song and won't shut up until I acknowledge the notification.
