Help sms received notification

Davano

Lurker
Hallo All,

I have a question.
When i block someone Phone number in my Android, and they sand me a sms message, will they receive a sms received notification on there phone ? or is the sms received notification not sand to them ?

I think it really depends on what generates the "received" message. If it's the phone then maybe not. If it's the network (which has to know that the message has been delivered in order to stop trying to send it) then very likely. Since the blacklist is a feature of some apps but not all, I'm assuming that the blocking is happening on the phone rather than in the network.

The simplest is probably to ask a friend to try a little experiment with you: block them (temporarily), ask them to send you a message requesting a delivery receipt, and see what happens.

Thanks for the reply's. All test it out when i have the time.
I will post the results here of the forum, to let you all no.
But i meant blocking a phone number, with the Android software it self, so with out using a 3 party app.

I had the time to test it out. And when you block someone, and they then sand you a sms, they do receive a received notification.

Cool time to block the estranged wife and her cluster of sewer rats.
Nice groundwork mate.

Forgot to tell. When you block someones number, you do receive the sms. But you wont get a notification about is. The sms in stored in the blocked messages folder. So you can see if the block person has sent you a sms and read it. So it seems logical they receive a received notification, because you do receive the sms, you just wont get a notification about it.
