Hi everyone.
I got my Droid 3 today, upgrading from a Droid 1. Very happy so far, except for a few things.
The biggest problem I have is restoring the text messages from my old phone (Droid 1). I use SMS Backup and Restore without fail on my Droid 1 for a while now. But restoring my messages on D3 causes all messages to have the current date and time, instead of when I actually sent / received them.
If I back up those messages with the wrong date and time, and view it in SMS Backup Restore or on my PC, the date and time is correct, so I haven't really lost anything. Just not getting restored properly from the phone's point of view.
Research has lead me to believe the Droid 2 and X have similar problems under certain firmwares. Couldn't find anything about a workaround, though.
Does anyone know how to get this working? Or based off experience with other phones, would rooting and a different ROM help any? (I plan to root when we can anyway.)
